Our commitment to quality materials
Not all gold plating is the same. Our Gold Vermeil necklaces feature a layer of real 18k gold at least 2.5 microns thick over a 925 sterling silver core.
This substantial gold layer uses considerably more gold than a thin, conventional plating, while the jewellery beneath it is genuine sterling silver rather than a base metal.
Gold Vermeil is therefore more than a golden finish. It describes the construction of the piece itself: a precious-metal core finished with a substantial layer of real gold.

Handcrafted in Portugal
Our necklaces are handcrafted in Portugal, where generations of goldsmithing expertise meet a contemporary, sculptural approach to design.
We work with manufacturers that meet Responsible Jewellery Council standards. Most of our creations are inspected by Portugal’s INCM and, where required, bear the corresponding hallmark.
Gold Vermeil or Solid Gold?
Gold Vermeil and solid gold offer two different ways to wear gold jewellery. Gold Vermeil combines a 925 sterling silver core with a thick layer of 18k gold, while solid gold is made throughout from a gold alloy.

Finding the Right Length
The right necklace length depends on how you want to wear it — on its own, with a particular neckline or as part of a layered look. Shorter lengths bring pendants closer to the neck, while longer chains create space between pieces when layering.

How long a gold-plated necklace retains its finish depends on the quality of its materials, the thickness of the gold layer, how often it is worn and how it is cared for. Our Gold Vermeil necklaces combine 925 sterling silver with a layer of 18k gold at least 2.5 microns thick. With proper care, Gold Vermeil can retain its gold finish for years. If a well-loved piece later needs some extra care, our replating service can renew the surface.
