Not all gold plating is the same. Our Gold Vermeil earrings feature a layer of real 18k gold at least 2.5 microns thick over a 925 sterling silver core. This substantial gold layer uses considerably more gold than a thin, conventional plating and is designed to endure beautifully over time.
Each pair is handcrafted in Portugal by RJC-certified manufacturers and hallmarked by Portugal's INCM.

Gold Vermeil and solid gold offer two different ways to wear gold jewellery. Gold Vermeil combines a substantial layer of 18k gold with a 925 sterling silver core, while solid gold is made throughout from a gold alloy.

How long a gold-plated finish lasts depends on the thickness of the gold layer, how often the jewellery is worn and how it is cared for. Our Gold Vermeil earrings feature a layer of 18k gold at least 2.5 microns thick over a 925 sterling silver core. With proper care, Gold Vermeil can retain its beautiful gold finish for years, although this will naturally vary depending on how and how often each piece is worn.
And when a well-loved piece eventually needs a little extra care, our replating service can restore its gold finish, so it can continue to be worn and enjoyed.
